Agent Smith

Raise your hand if you saw the first Matrix movie and were blown away by it. You imagined yourself taking the Red Pill from Morpheus. You imagined yourself a proto-Neo or a proto-Trinity, able to do the Bullet Time, ready to take down an army of Agent Smiths, raging against the machine.

Now raise your hand if Donald Trump scares you.

I am not saying Orange is Neo. I am not saying he is anything but a buffoon wrapped in a clown suit wearing an ugly Christmas sweater.

All I am saying is that he is the absolute spiritual opposite of The Establishment. He is ready to blow up literally everything just because he can.

When the choice had to be made, a huge majority - to the tune of nearly 3 million voters and a global citizenry watching aghast - including me wanted status quo.

So, in future, if I catch myself thinking of The Matrix, I will have to remember that I am more Agent Smith than Neo.
